OCTLC’s first year resulted in outreach to 60+ charities in Orange County, and included Mother’s Day Baskets for Human Options, toiletry kits for Colette Children’s Home, donations for multiple organizations from Orangewood Children’s Home to WisePlace and even Ronald McDonald House. In person events included cheering on children at the Great Tryke Giveaway event in Long Beach, planting trees at Shadetree, making care packages for people at Children’s Miracle Network and setting up the toy store at the Children’s Rescue Mission. Not to mention, donating $10,000 to a Walk on Water and donating to Serving Advantage which assist autistic children with tennis lessons and clinics.
2022 saw a significant increase in contributions to wonderful charities in Orange County. We made baskets for women needing support and assistant at Human Options, we provided hygiene kits for Colette’s Children’s Home where mothers and children are given housing and help in a time of need, we built part of a house with Habitat for Humanity, donated significant monies to Operation Helping Hands (supporting those who are without permanent housing), we crafted with children at Unlimited Possibilities and we sorted food at the Second Harvest Food Bank. We started off 2022 with a $10,000 donation to the Orange County Rescue Mission and were able to provide adaptive cycling equipment for those with physical limitations through So Cal Trykers. These bikes are life-changing for those who receive them. At the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association’s Top Gun event, we made a donation of $10,000 to the selected charity Operation Helping Hands.
We also had three separate “Thirty Days of Giving” campaigns for a total of 90 days of giving. On each day of giving $1,000.00 went to a separate Orange County charity. This allowed us to meet our goal of donating almost $100,000.00 through our “30 Days of Giving” campaigns. The recipients of these monies included Boys & Girls Clubs, Free Rein, Ronald McDonald House, Make a Wish Foundation, Meals on Wheels, Beyond Blindness, Serving Advantage, and many, many more.
