Lissa Mozur Zanville has more than 30 years of experience in the non-profit, public,and private sectors, including government affairs, media relations, crisis management, community relations, strategic planning, spokesperson training and stakeholder management.
A graduate of UCLA, Zanville worked for the Democratic National Committee inWashington, D.C., the California Democratic Party, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, the California State Assembly, and Pacific Bell (now AT&T) where she was Director of Media Relations and primary spokesperson.
She started LMZ Communications in 1990. The company provided spokesperson training to corporate, sports, entertainment, and political clients such as Toyota, Microsoft, City of Los Angeles, Knott’s Berry Farm, IBM, Claritin, Ultimate Fighting Championship, and the United States Equestrian Federation.
Immediately before joining Los Angeles Trial Lawyers’ Charitiesin 2016, Zanville was with the PHASE ONE Foundation, a non-profit that supports early cancer research and clinical trials. For nine years she has served as the sole staff and Executive Director of this $16 million foundation.
Zanville lives in Los Angeles with her husband Stuart.
Lara Weiss volunteered with LATLC for several years before enthusiastically becoming part of the staff in 2019. Sheis passionate about LATLC’s mission not only because it empowers and makes a positive difference in the quality of life for people within the greater Los Angeles area, but also because the events allow her to personally connect with her local community and continually humble her to do more. Prior to joining the LATLC team, Lara was a Case Manager at the mediation and arbitration firm ADR Services, Inc. for five and a half years, and worked as a law clerk at Goldberg & Gille for one year. She has also been teaching yoga since 2013 –the yin to her legal yang!
Lara graduated from UC San Diego with a degree in International Studies and Psychology, and has studied abroad in Spain twice. She enjoys Pilates, yoga, martial arts, singing, going for long walks whilst listening to podcasts, traveling, and engaging with her local community to make positive and lasting differences.
